Project Manager

We are currently supporting a global defence technology organisation in the search for a Senior Project Manager (part-time) to join a complex defence sustainment program based in Canberra.

This role sits within a high-performing delivery environment and is responsible for the successful execution of multi-discipline technology projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered in line with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and governance expectations.

You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, providing structure, direction, and oversight across discovery, solution definition, work package initiation, estimation, and prioritisation. A key aspect of the role is driving delivery excellence while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture and continuous improvement mindset.

Strong stakeholder engagement is essential, as you will work closely with senior Defence stakeholders and customer representatives. You will be responsible for managing expectations, providing clear reporting, and delivering data-driven insights on project performance, risks, and dependencies.

Key requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years’ programme/project management experience
• Strong defence sector experience, ideally within capability sustainment programs
• Proven experience leading complex, multi-discipline IT or technical delivery environments
• Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and influence senior stakeholders and customers
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting
• End-to-end delivery experience across planning, risk, issue, stakeholder, and vendor management
• NV1 security clearance (mandatory)
• Ability to operate effectively in complex, regulated environments
